From the beginning, TubTreasures focused on creating a product designed for long-term use instead of short-term replacement. Our goal was not simply to launch another bathroom accessory. We wanted to build something reliable, durable, and thoughtfully designed.

That process took far longer and cost far more than most people realize. Developing a product is not just about finding a factory and placing an order. Before a product can even be sold, there are countless steps involved behind the scenes: materials need to be sourced and tested, packaging has to be developed, safety standards must be researched and samples need to be improved repeatedly until the product meets expectations.

And even after all that, the real work begins.

Product Safety Is Extremely Important to Us

One of the biggest reasons our bath mat costs more is our focus on product safety and compliance. Many people never see this side of running a business, but before products can legally and responsibly be sold internationally, extensive checks often need to take place. Depending on the country and platform, businesses may need to gather documentation, complete product testing, and ensure products meet safety requirements.

This process is expensive, time-consuming, and often frustrating for small businesses, but it matters. We believe customers deserve products that are carefully checked before they arrive in their homes. That is why we invested significant time and money into understanding regulations, improving our packaging and instructions, and ensuring our bath mats meet the standards expected for international sales.

This is especially important for products used daily in wet environments like bathrooms, where slip resistance, durability, and material quality genuinely matter.

Every Batch Is Checked Before Leaving the Factory

Why We Only Offer One Product Right Now

Another question we often receive is: “Why does TubTreasures only sell one product?”

The answer is actually closely connected to everything above. Developing new products properly is extremely expensive. Every new product requires research, design work, safety checks, testing, packaging development, samples, production adjustments, certifications, shipping arrangements, and quality inspections. For a small independent brand, these costs add up very quickly.

Instead of rushing to release many products at once, we made a deliberate decision to focus fully on our first product: our diatomaceous earth bath mat. We wanted to get it right. This is why we invested our time, energy, and budget into improving this product as much as possible before expanding further. Because of that focus, our budget for new product development is temporarily very limited.

And honestly, we think that is okay. Too many companies launch endless products without giving enough attention to quality, durability, or long-term performance. We would rather grow slowly and responsibly than release products we are not fully confident in.

We Believe in Long-Term Products

One of the core ideas behind TubTreasures is simple: better products should last longer. Traditional fabric bath mats often stay damp for long periods, develop odours, and need frequent washing or replacement. Our goal was to offer an alternative made from natural diatomaceous earth that dries quickly and requires less maintenance over time.

This philosophy influences every decision we make. We prioritize durability over disposability, thoughtful materials over shortcuts and long-term value over temporary trends. That approach may not result in the lowest possible price, but we believe it results in a better product and a better customer experience.

Growth Takes Time

As a small and growing company, we are constantly balancing ambition with reality. Of course we want to expand our collection in the future. We would love to introduce more carefully designed bathroom essentials that align with the same values as our bath mat. But responsible growth takes time, especially when we want to maintain the same level of care and attention.

We never want to release products simply for the sake of selling more. Every future product must meet the same standards we set for ourselves from the beginning.

That means careful development, safety checks, testing, and quality control will always remain part of the process.
